Indoor Cats Should Be Microchipped Too

Oct 14, 2020

It’s common knowledge that even house cats run the risk of getting lost. Sometimes they escape without you knowing, or do it right in front of you. If you don’t put a collar on your kitty and they get out of the house nothing easily lets people know that the cat is yours and where to reach you. Lost cat posters will definitely help, but there is no guarantee that someone who picks up your kitty will see the posters. A microchip is a good way for a veterinarian, animal control or a shelter to know that your kitty belongs to you and where to contact you. The AAFP strongly advocates for even indoor cats to be microchipped.
