Scooping Schedule and Keeping The Box Clean

Bryan Schmidt • Jan 15, 2022
A cat’s litterbox environment is very important to them. Unless it is kept clean they might decide that outside of the box is a better place to do their business. It is a good idea to set a schedule for yourself so that keeping the litterbox environment clean for your kitty becomes a habit. Scooping the box twice a day is usually sufficient to keep the box clean, while it is also a good idea to pop in and clean something that you notice in between the regular scooping times. If it helps, you can align scooping the litterbox with feeding your kitty so you don’t forget and your kitty gets a nice fresh box if they need it after they eat. If you have multiple cats, it is important that you get one box for each of them plus one additional box. You may notice that you should be scooping three times a day to keep up with all of them if they decide to use the same box. It is also a good idea to empty and wash the litterbox once a week to make sure that the box stays extra clean for your kitty.
