Importance of Veterinary Care

Adult cats should have a complete veterinary examination at least once a year. Geriatric cats (8 years old and older) should see Northern Illinois Cat Clinic twice a year or more frequently because an illness is more common in older cats and should be identified sooner to provide proper treatment. We may recommend a wellness program for your cat, such as blood and urine tests to monitor for early kidney or liver disease. Call our office for details 847-680-1770.

Giving Medications

Administering pills to a cat can be challenging. Here is a good video that may help - how to give a cat a pill. Our technicians will also offer any guidance and help you need. Some medication comes in liquid form. Often this is easier to give, see a video link here - how to give your cat liquid medication. Many medications can be "compounded" into a flavored liquid or treat which most cats will readily accept. We want to take the stress away from you and makes things as easy as possible if your cat needs to be on medication.

Second Opinions When Something Doesn't Seem Right

As a feline only veterinarian we see many "second opinion" cases. If a diagnosis your cat has received does not seem right to you, or you would like further confirmation, please call our office to schedule a "second opinion" appointment.
