If you want to give your kitty the purr-fect litterbox experience, here are a few tips that will help do just that.

• Keep the litter in the box 2 to 4 inches deep and use unscented litter. While scented litter may help our noses, it won’t help your kitty’s.

• Be sure that your kitty’s litter box is at least one and a half cat lengths long to give your kitty enough space to do their business.

• Try not to use a liner, but if needed, make sure it is out of the way so your kitty can’t feel it. If you prefer covered boxes, be careful, your kitty might not like them.

• When washing the litter box, make sure not to use any scented chemicals, your kitty doesn’t like the same smells we do.

• If you have more than one kitty at home, you should have one litter box more than the number of cats you have.

• The litter boxes should be scooped daily, and once a week, they should be completely emptied and then washed with mild dish soap.

• If your house has multiple levels, at least one litter box on each level is ideal.
